About Me

My photo
Today, I am a Minister of the Gospel; however, that was not always the case. As a younger man, I found out that I was good at getting in trouble, and for a while, I thought that was fun... until... There's always that moment, especially when you live the life I was living at one time, when you realize that there is a choice to make, one direction leads towards the light, while the other, darkness. Fear consumed me, fear of an early death, or a life without meaning; however, life through a curve ball, and I knew that this was that moment, would I choose the darkness, or would I rest in the cool rays of the morning light. Believe it or not, that can be a tougher decision than one might imagine; however, purely by God's Grace, I walked into the light, and my life has never been the same... The overly Sufficient Grace of God, the Prayers of a Crying mother, the Word of a loving father, combined with the respect, and stern encouragement from a friend that stuck closer than a brother... And, here I am today! God is Faithful... Trust me. taste and see, the Lord is Good....

According to the Miriam-Webster dictionary, the words “to Pray', Prayer, or Praying,” is to address a need, petition, or desire, to God, or other deity, through the verbally spoken word or thought. Furthermore, the words “to Pray', Prayer, or Praying,” are described as an earnest request, desire, or wish, to entreat, to implore or to make a request in a meek and humble manner once again to God, or other deity. Furthermore, the terms “to Pray', Prayer, or Praying” is to address God, or other deity, with adoration, confession, supplication, and thanksgiving.

(Praying Hands)

As I read through the various dictionaries, and other resources, in search of the meaning of the words, “to Pray, Prayer, or Praying,” I began to realize that the arcadian definitions found in the dictionary, could not possibly tell me what it is I needed to know about those oh so important words, there had to be a better way. After pondering for a minute, and taking another sip of my overpriced caramel latte, my mind began to drift away, and it was then that it occurred to me, if I wanted to know what these words meant to the world today, it would only make sense for me to ask the people who reside here in the world of today.

Speaking almost audibly, I said to myself, “how do I do I do this, and where do I start?" To which I also replied, "I guess I’ll start right here, right now, right where I am” and so I turned to the table nearest to me, and I began asking this question, "what does Prayer mean t

o you?" In the beginning, it felt a somewhat awkward, the idea of asking total strangers what Prayer means to them, when I wasn't even sure if the individual, I was spe
aking to, even prayed at all, let alone to the same God that I did. Initially, conversing with the patrons of this coffee shop, and asking such unusual questions just seemed uncomfortable and odd, especially in this post-covid, socially distanced world in which we live today, where strangers are to be avoided at all costs; however, the responses I received, made me so glad that I gathered up the courage to do so.

In the beginning, there seemed to be some hesitation, it appeared that some of those present, there in the coffee shop, were a little reluctant to speak to a total stranger about such a personal and intimate subject; nonetheless, once the ice was broken, there were some really great discussions taking place in Starbucks that day, and it had all begun with just of one simple question," what does Prayer mean to you?"

  • Just talking to God as you would a relative, a close friend, or a loved one.
  • Seeking guidance.
  • Thanking God for all He has done.
  • Having a conversation with God, it's how we establish our relationship with Jesus.
  • Asking for God's help and direction for your life.
  • Just conversing with the universe, you know, just letting it all go.
  • Just letting it all go, realizing that we are not actually in control of anything, but at the same time, realizing that we are, we always have a choice, even a choice in determining when, if, and to whom, we pray.
  • Just talking, that's it, talking and listening, talking and listening, probably more listening.
  • Meditating, and connecting with the universe.

Listed above are some of the responses gathered on that day; undoubtedly, the majority of those who took part in the discussion, had at least a partial understanding of what it means to pray. Even those who did not Believe possessed some familiarity and experience with these terms. Although some of the statements and responses provided were unsurprisingly incorrect, in my humble opinion, every single one of the responses received; even the incredibly bad ones, were worth their weight in gold, but why? Because they allowed a conversation to be had, perhaps a seed was planted, and even the slightest the possibility that a heart could be impacted for the good, makes each one of those interactions are precious in the sight of God.

Now, some of the responses laid out above may ring truer than others, and that's ok, as we realize that ultimately, our goal in prayer is to commune, one on one, or as a body of Believers agreeing as one, with our God, Father, and Creator. We do this, through the Power of the Holy Spirit, the third manifestation of the single God who while both fully Spirit, and fully God, resides within us, to guide us, teach us, and lead us as we live out this thing called life here on the earth. According to the scriptures, the Holy Spirit was present in the beginning when our God and Father spoke the words that created all that we see, the Holy Spirit gives life, not only to all of humanity, but to all living things upon the earth, and it was this same Holy Spirit that gave power to the judges, prophets, kings, and warriors, from Abraham to Moses, Joshua to David, David to Solomon, and all of the Patriarchs and Leaders of our Old Testament, the Tanakh. Even more so, it was the Power of the Holy Spirit that empowered the Apostles, Disciples, and Prophets of the New Testament Era, from Matthew to Mark, Peter to Paul, and Jude to James, and it was by this Holy Spirit, that we have the completed Holy Bible today.

It was the Holy Spirit that overshadowed Mary, it was the Holy Spirit that filled John the Baptist, the cousin of Jesus, from birth, and it was the Holy Spirit that filled the upper room on the Day of Pentecost. The Comforter, the Spirit of Truth, and the Holy Spirit, were all spoken of by Christ Jesus Himself, in John 14:16, Acts 1:8, and throughout the Gospels, and it is the Holy Spirit that the Prophet Joel spoke of in the second chapter of the book that bears his name, Joel 2:28 "And it shall come to pass afterward, that I will pour out My Spirit upon all flesh..." and now, back to the purpose of this entire article, Prayer.

In the book of Matthew, Chapter Six, we find Jesus instructing His Disciples; therefore, you and I today, on exactly how we should Pray. Before Jesus demonstrates to us the way in which we are to Pray, He first instructs us on how Not to Pray. Matthew 6:7 But when you Pray, use not vain repetitions, as the heathen do..." and in the preceding verses, Jesus instructs His followers to avoid crying loudly in the streets, and on the corners seeking only to bring attention to ourselves, because in doing this, our reward shall be on earth only, causing our Prayers to go unheard, and unanswered in Heaven above. Jesus goes on to teach us that the goal of the Pharisees was only to gain the acknowledgement and praise of others, rather than from God Himself, the Giver of all good things.

Please understand, this is not meant to be a lesson or in-depth breakdown of the Lord's Prayer, only a brief illustration meant to direct us towards the final conclusion of what it means to Pray the Names of God. However, before doing so, I feel it is important to point out that Prayer is to be a personal and private demonstration of our love, reverence, and honor of God, our Father in Creation, as Jesus Christ in Redemption. and the Holy Spirit in Salvation. It is He who watches over us, Heals us, and makes us Whole, and as we Pray, we are to honor Him first and foremost, before anything else. Next, we are to make our petitions known unto Him, the Holy God, and the only One who can truly make a difference in our lives. Third, we are to intercede for others, and yes. even those who despitefully use us, this is followed by Thanksgiving, and Praise, this is the order of Prayer; however, there is more.

“When we pray, we must pray with expectations: first, that God is indeed

listening, and second, that He will not only hear us, but that He will answer…” But how do we do this? Well, we declare to God, His own Word. Listed above, are various Names, or really, descriptions of who God was, and is to His people, and each one of these describes certain attributes and characteristics used to exemplify to the Israelites; and thereby, you and I today, all that God is. all that God has done and will do for those who love Him. knowing that God is not a man that He should lie, we as His children can be assured, that when we call upon His Name, Jesus, He will hear us from Heaven, and He will answer. With this understanding, as we Pray, we can declare to God, that, "you are my Elohim, you have all power in earth below, and Heaven above." As we Pray, we can say to God, "y0u are my Jehovah Jireh, you are my provider, or "God, you are Jehovah Ma-gen, you are my shield and protector!"

Ten years ago, as I was in the hospital fighting for my life, due to a horrible brain, blood, and bone infection, I began to declare to God in Heaven above, "Lord, you are Jehovah Rapha, you are my Healer, these are your Words, this is within the pages of the Holy Scripture; therefore, you must do what you said you would do, you cannot lie, and so you must act." With expectation, I read Numbers 23:19 "God is not a man, that He should lie...," and declared that I will live and not die! Though the doctor's report was ominous, and the nurses and therapists felt that even if I survived, that I may never walk unassisted again, I continued to Pray to God the Father in the Name of Jesus, and with Great Anticipation, I waited patiently for His reply, declaring to God, His own Words, found in John 14:14 "if ye shall ask anything in My Name, I will do it..." Ultimately, God heard my Prayers, and ultimately, He began His work in me, and although I still have a road to walk before I am completely restored, whether in this world, or the next, I Know and Believe, that the Work that He has begun, God will complete.

So, what does it all mean? Well the answer is simple, Declare God's Word to Him, Pray with Faith and Expectation in Anticipation of what God will do in your life, and even before the completion of your Prayer, God will begin to move on your behalf. May the Good Lord, Bless You and Keep You, in the Name of Jesus I Pray, Amen.

Mama, Please Forgive Me!

Mamma, Please forgive me!
By Guest Author, Rev. Edwin Blackman

Please forgive me!

I don’t understand the size and the depth of the gap in which you stand

Please believe me

I’ll always be your number one fan

It’s no denying

Things I put you through

But like a mother

You were there through and through

There’s no understanding

The sacrifices you made for us

I’m only trying

To rectify the pain you felt because of us

It’s so demanding

The fact that I know you are crying

Please know this is truth I’m not even lying

The sacrifice you had to make

From day to day

Somehow you made a way

You always saved the day

I can see it

The pain you must have gone through

To raise these seven that didn’t alway appreciate you

Please forgive us

For what I put you through

I can only wonder

If my kids will treat me the way I treated you

The lonely nights I watched you pray

By your beside so deep so emotional so brave

You always laid it

 Before His feet

Calling out the names of your children

In strength and not defeat

I bet you think I don’t remember

How many times you didn’t eat your dinner

So that we

Would always have a seat

At the table makes me cry wondering how many times you didn’t eat

So many times did we hear you pray

You’re only desire that God would keep us and make away

You need no reminder

Of all that was lost

Just like our Savior

You were willing to pay no mater the cost

I understand you

We made you this way

You were once sane

That is until we came

I’m just joking

But there is some truth in it

We all took something from you

It’s not a negative

So don’t be shamed

You did what you had to do

You had to play the game

Just like Jesus had to play the Jews

I understand Now

Just who you are but often wonder how many times we took it too far

A wonderful Christ fearing mother that’s who you are no wonder we made it this far

When it comes to loving

You are so far ahead of the pack

Just keep Moving and never look back

See you taught me how to believe

In the good of mankind but not to be deceived by the devils and

Not everyone has your interest at heart

You taught me this from the very start

You also showed me

How to love one another

And to give hurt feelings sometime

And Let it heal

Is what you would say

I carry it with me from day to day

So now it’s time

To give you your flowers and it must be today

So you can enjoy them forever and a day

I am blessed

To still have my mother

The day will come that’s my only fear

I love you more each day as God reviles

Just how wonderful

A person you are

To say the good things about you

Would take a life time just to get started

I don’t have much

But what I do is because of you

It is due to you

And always available to you

See to have

A mother who cares

Is such a rarity

And I will learn from you until God sets my soul free

I must say it out loud

This is so personal

But the world needs to see

Just how much my mother means to me!

Happy extremely early Mother’s Day

But truly this is how I feel every day of the year! I love you more than life it’s self. I wanted to express in words just how I felt! May God bless and keep you is my prayer!

Have Faith In God

Hebrews 11:1-3 KJV

(The Curse. of the Fig Tree)

Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. For by it the elders obtained a good report. Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear...

It is through the eyes our of Faith that we see the universe and all that exist around us, and it is through that same faith that the sick are healed, restored, and made  whole from previously broken lives. By Faith, we know that the voice of God created everything we see before our eyes, each of the amazing sounds between 20Hz to 20KHz  audible to the human ear, and so many more that we can’t. From the lowest of bass tones, to the highest of the trebles, it was God who created them all, and it was He who provided to us, the ability to hear them. To declare that the Word of God is truth, is to say and proclaim that all things: the moon, the stars, the planets, and all that we see, hear, and smell were created by the Voice and Word of God, and that Christ Jesus, is the Living Word of God as described in John Chapter One, “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.” By faith, we know that He, Jesus Christ, did it all, created us all, and that He is the our Lord, our Savior, our God.

Hebrews 11:4-5 KJV

By faith Abel offered unto God a more excellent sacrifice than Cain, by which he obtained witness that he was righteous, God testifying of his gifts: and by it he being dead yet speaketh. By faith Enoch was translated that he should not see death; and was not found, because God had translated him: for before his translation he had this testimony, that he pleased God...

Abel gave of himself, his first fruit, as an offering to God, described in the Bible as a “more excellent sacrifice,” but why? Well, because Abel had given to God, the best of his flock, a lamb without blemish, and one that was certainly of high value. But why; why would Abel give such an expensive offering to God? To give such a lamb as an offering is the equivalent to giving a gift of several thousand dollars today, So then what is the reason? Why did Abel give such a large gift? Because of his Faith. Abel had faith in the truth of God, he believed that what he had been taught by his parents was true; thereby, he knew that if he gave unto God, his very best sacrifice, then God would return it back to him, sevenfold, simply because of his Faith in God. So then, why was Abel’s gift so much more pleasing to God than that of his brother Cain? Simple, it was his Faith, Abel gave unto God because the Faith he had in Him; whereas, Cain gave, simply because that is what it was customary to do, i.e., he only gave because that is what he was “supposed” to do, not by faith or obedience, but because that’s what was expected of him.

Hebrews 11:6 KJV

But without faith it is impossible to please Him: for he that cometh to God must believe that He is, and that He is a Rewarder of them that diligently seek Him...

As a pastor, these words were spoken to me on more than one occasion, “before I can go to church,” or “before I can get right with Him, I am going to get clean/straight/sober/etc.” But the truth is this, without God, it would be incredibly difficult, if not completely impossible, to follow through with any plan to get “straight” or stay clean. So, what do we do in these situations, how do we overcome the evil cobra? At this point, the answer should become self evident, we must have Faith. You see, before we can face the demons, and before we exclaim, “mountain, be thou moved!” We must first Believe, “for he that comes to God must believe...”

Hebrews 11:7 KJV

By faith Noah, being warned of God of things not seen as yet, moved with fear, prepared an ark to the saving of his house; by the which he condemned the world, and became heir of the righteousness which is by faith...

(Noah’s Ark)

So our There are many times, especially in today’s charged environment, that our Faith in God is called into question by others, friend and family alike. More often than not, the strange and “peculiar thing” that God has called us to do may seem a little too extreme or questionable, both to ourselves, and to others; yet and still, our belief in God implores us to press on. Today, just like in the days of Noah, it is imperative that we focus on, and accomplish, the tasks that we are assigned, whether they appear humoristic, laughable, or simply beyond our grasps, we must strive to attain them.

You see, If we are to overcome the chains and bondage that daily, entangle and suffocate us, ourselves, and the ones we love, we must have Faith. If we seek to heal the addictions, dependences, self-destructive vices and illnesses that ravage and destroy our families, we must believe that total healing and complete restoration are indeed possible. And finally, before we can make war against the demons, the minions, and the afflictions that call us to sin and death, we must be prepared to face the coming battle by checking our hearts, to see if they are in line with the Commandments and Righteousness of God, do we Love God above all things, and do we must Love others above  ourselves: we must have Faith.

(Abraham is called by God)

Hebrews 11:8 KJV

By faith Abraham, when he was called to go out into a place which he should after receive for an inheritance, obeyed; and he went out, not knowing whither he went...

Looking back, I can very clearly remember that very minute, that singular moment in time, the exact second that my faith in God, and my obedience to Him, first intersected before becoming intertwined; merged, into one massive ball of Hope. Oh, what a magical moment that was, there are truly, no words to describe it, I only pray that one day, you will experience that moment for yourself, the Holy Ghost.

While working as a retail store manager here in Austin, (Texas, USA) the Holy Spirit prompted me walk over and speak to one customer in particular. The task seemed easy enough, just say to him three short words, “God loves you.” In all honesty, I would’ve preferred not to do it; in fact, I presented my case to God, one imaginary powerpoint slide at a time. Slide one, I’m at work Jesus, we can’t do that here, right? Slide number two, I have no idea how this guy will react, he looks a little rough around the edges, but didn’t I? Slide numero tres, (3) does this dude even believe in You, God?

(The Slideshow)

The show went on and on, slide after slide, one after another, I plead with God, begging Him, “please do not to force me to go over and speak to him, he’ll think I’m crazy.” And so, after debating with God for what seemed like an eternity, the young man walked over to me, and began to speak. After answering a few questions, I gathered his items, and checked him out. As all you retailers out there will know, I offered him all the extras and add-ons scattered around the register; to which he kindly replied, “no thanks,” as we concluded the transaction. Anxiously, I waited for him to turn away and walk toward the exit door, ending the torturous ordeal, returning unto me, my freedom. However, just as the customer  placed his hand upon the exit door, the Holy Spirit exploded within me! as if a burning ember ignited a vapor of fuel, igniting a flame filled explosion! In that moment, there was no way I could contain it, Boom!
Out of my belly, into my lungs, and finally echoing through my mouth, a whisper, “God loves you.” To be honest, I didn’t even know if he actually heard me, while deep down inside, I hoped that he hadn’t, I would not be sure until he turned around.

After he had taken two to three steps, he stopped, turned around quickly, and walked back to the checkout counter. After stepping up to the register in which I was working, the young man looked up at me and smiled as he quietly said to me, “what did you just say to me?” to which I replied, “Jesus loves you,” now with an even bigger grin he said, “you don’t know just how much I needed to hear that right now, thank you.” While still smiling, he reached out and shook my hand, before cheerfully turning around and heading out of the door; even now, I can only guess what he was going through on that day. Although we hadn’t talked any more than that, this I know, his day and mine, were just a little bit better after this experience, Faith.

Hebrews 11:13 KJV

These all died in faith, not having received the promises, but having seen them afar off, and were persuaded of them, and embraced them, and confessed that they were strangers and pilgrims on the earth...

Trusting God, and living out our faith daily; this is how we teach our children, grandchildren, and even others around us, how to build and exercise faith in their own lives. You see, it’s a never ending cycle, a story of hope and encouragement, a path that strengthens and guides us toward the throne room. Although as humans we know that not everything will work out quite the way we would like, it is our faith that Prayer is yet another tool we have at our disposal to battle the enemy, and uplift the faith of those around us. Praying for, and teaching individuals who may have a need, how to pray will, of course build the faith of the individual, but as we see their lives change through faith, it will encourage you and I to keep fighting to overcome the trials and tribulations in our lives as well.

(Iron Sharpens Iron)

To the multitudes, caught up in the fray and the fight, to the embattled legions of pastors, prayer warriors, parishioners, and saints, facing demons on the daily, and to our friends, family and loved ones around the world who are fearlessly fighting against the wiles of the devil, I have a message for you. Although we are, more often than not, embroiled in calamities abound, it is imperative that we bring to our recollection, this one very important truth: our faith can literally move mountains. Our faith in God can help us establish, strengthen, and encourage faith, not only in ourselves, within others. Seriousl
y, by sharing the stories of our triumphant victories, testimonies of trials overcome, and the joys of accomplishments of an unexpected nature, with the masses, we show them something a Bible story never could: Jesus is alive, well, and still in the miracle making business.

Verily, verily, I say unto you, that is a KJV humor; however, it is a very true statement, when we share with others, the tells and the tales of our travels, travails, and triumphs, both old and new, past and present, the hearers, whether intentionally or not, cannot help but to be uplifted and encouraged as a result of the testament of God’s love, power, and grace in our lives. By openly declaring our past failures and fisticuffs, we demonstrate to others that no one is perfect, we all have demons to fight, and enemies to defeat. Truth be told, we are all in this together, and for some, just knowing that they’re not alone in this fight allows them to be sharpened, shaped and molded into a weapon of war for good against evil and for God against satan: as it is written, “iron sharpens iron,” (Pro.27:17) & “Two are better than one; because they have a good reward for their labor.” (Ecc.4:9)

“God is for us; yes, indeed He is!”

Gladly I exclaim, that for so many of us, this statement is the absolute truth; in fact, so much so, that I can also guarantee that you, and the greater majority of individuals reading this sentence right now would, to this, also agree, but why? Because that is who God is, He is the very definition of Faithfulness. Jesus Christ, our God, truly is so Amazing, He is truly for us, from the rising of the son, and to the going down of the moon, God cares for each and every one of us, from the youngest of us, to the eldest, God cares for you. To expound the greatness of God and to declare that He is our shield, protecting us from the fiery darts of the enemy, encourages those around us to continue the fight.

(You Are The Handiwork of God’s Hands)

Today, there are many of God’s Wondrous creations, living in fear of some deadline or judgement, for those of whom I just described, allow yourself to recall the many times that God turned your test into a testimony; be reminded of this, the Lord Jehovah is a warrior. Our God is the Lion of the tribe of Judah and the King of all kings, our God is the One who was, who is, and the One who is to come, our God is Mighty in battle, He is for you, He is for me, and He is for all who call upon His Righteous and Holy Name, Jesus. Finally, to the overwhelmed, the downtrodden, and the “just old and tired,”  I say this to you, God turned the destructive plans of satan himself into Blessings from above, He performed a miracle in my body, and Christ performed this healing for all to see, where once the prognosis was death or maybe a wheelchair, to now, preaching and teaching His Holy Word: it can never be said that I have not witnessed God work, because He worked it within me. Just have faith, first for yourself, and then for others, and as our faith begins to grow, and we begin to understand why so many in the past placed their faith in God, it becomes even more evident to us that perhaps, God can be trusted with our future.

Look, I see it too, how even in my own life, things seldom work out as planned, and more often than not, the punches of life come at us sideways. The crazier that “thing” is that comes at us, the quicker we should be to fall down on our knees to pray and cry out to God. However, even when we do not, God still works on our behalf, quietly, behind the scenes, and in the shadows. Taking a look at today’s world, we see trying times all around, the atmosphere is so electrically charged that it can, will, and often does explode at even the slightest of sparks, and then BOOM!

(Civil Unrest in Anchorage, Alaska, USA)
another firestorm, no one can contain. Listen, I am with you on this one, things appear damning, but we cannot allow our faith to fail us; instead, look back in time, in the days of our forefathers, and you will find that the prayers were heard and answered by our God who loved them, just as He loves You and I today, He will never leave us, nor forsake us; therefore be comforted, knowing our God Never fails. Just Have Faith.

Hebrews 11:29-31 KJV

By faith they passed through the Red sea as by dry land: which the Egyptians assaying to do were drowned. By faith the walls of Jericho fell down, after they were compassed about seven days. By faith the harlot Rahab perished not with them that believed not, when she had received the spies with peace.

By Faith, so many battles were won, by faith, so many illnesses have been healed, Because someone had enough faith for two, many, many relationships have been restored, and the lives of  multitudes of the broken and misguided,

(Myself Speaking at the PromiseLand)
have been turned around, and have had their feet firmly set on solid ground, all because of faith.
Honestly, it would be all too easy to say that Faith in God is the single most important gift one individual can give to another, but its the truth, and by far, Faith is this greatest gift a parent can give their child. Just have Faith.

Because I have faith in God, I have been set free in more ways than one, whether I deserved it or not. By faith I looked death squarely in the eyes and yet I breath, and by faith, I wake up in the morning, hop out of bed, standing on my own two feet ready to face the day when the doctors insisted that would never happen again. According to the many “specialists, MD’s, PHD’s, and scores more, it would be nearly impossible for me to bare the weight of my body without the assistance of a wheelchair or walker: But God had a different plan! Finally, as I sit here typing this article to you, I can see very clearly, the looks of astonishment on the nurses and doctors as I walked into Nuero-Wing on the fourth floor, many of them asking if it was really me, as I “yes it indeed it was,” they couldn’t believe it. Greeting the nurses and staff, I continued to walked up and down the halls, on my own two feet, with a smile, all while declaring the Goodness of the Mighty God. You see, they had just witnessed the miracle of faith, and the power of God, seeing that I had a clear mind, proper use of all my faculties, their astonishment was now displaced with the vocalization of what many had been thinking, that God is real, and that He is a Miracle Worker: in that moment, every pain filled second I spent there, was well worth it, if even one person decided to test out this “God” that I would often speak about, then it was all truly worth it. Moral of the story is this, Just Have Faith.

Twenty-20

(Coronavirus 2019 aka COVID 19)

The Covid-19 coronavirus has caused fear among many of us here in the United States of America, and around the world. The veracity by which the virus infects and kills it's victims, is both altogether alarming and questionable, leading many to doubt it’s verity. As we move further away from its genesis, and closer to the end of the year, even now, the never ending pressure and emotional violence of 2020 continue to haunt us. This year, the year of our Lord, 2020 is one that we all wish we could simply erase from memory, or perhaps at the least, start again; yet, as we know, this is not possible, we must only face it, overcome it, and move on. So, how do we do this? How do we face the challenges of such a formidable foe and come out on top? Simple, we have Faith.

The Spirit of the Lord is upon us, He is calling His people to Repentance, Revival, and a Return to He who created the whole world. These are more than just simple words, they are a call to action, if we are to be who the Lord has called us to be, these are the steps we must take. The word revival has been used to describe many different concepts, programs, and events. To many, the word revival conjures up thoughts of special occasions and services, celebrated with the presence of special speakers and guest musicians; however, true revival is so much more. Revival is a burning and yearning within us that drives us to seek out the face of God, a desire to hear the voice of the Creator and to act according to His will. Revival is like that feeling of completeness you felt when you knew, I mean when you grasped and comprehended that something amazing had just occurred in your life, and it could only come from God. Repentance, Revival, and Returning to God, our first love, is similar to the experience we had the first time the Holy Ghost overshadowed us, filling us up from the inside out, causing our lips to stammer, a fire that cannot be quenched. What is revival? It is a shout of Joy, with words we cannot explain, a growling and a shout from the deepest parts of our soul, a renewal of Faith in the Mighty God we serve.

II Chronicles 7:14-15
If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land... mine eyes shall be open... mine ears attent unto the prayer that is made...

Ezekiel 37:27-28
My tabernacle also shall be with them: yea, I will be their God, and they shall be my people...

Jeremiah 32:38-41
And they shall be my people, and I will be their God: And I will give them one heart, and one way, that they may fear me for ever, for the good of them, and of their children after them...

(The Holy Bible)

The Bible is full of the promises of God, these three listed above are just a few of the many verses in which God speaks to us, letting us know that if we do our part, if we turn to Him through, Faith, Repentance, and living a life that is pleasing to Him, He would then turn to His face to us, and move mightily within our lives, but what is a life pleasing to God? In order to live a life pleasing to God, we must give ourselves to Him, in other words, we must become living sacrifices to Him who gave if Himself so that we may live. As described in Romans 12:1, we must live a  life of Godliness and Holiness, a life in which we give Christ Jesus the praise and worship He deserves, a life in which we keep the things of God Holy while also rendering to caesar what is his, by not conforming to the world, and by focusing on the things of God, we please Him; thereby, we rest in the knowledge that God is on our side. This my friend  is Revival, it's a change that begins within us; yet, it is not a
momentary or temporary change, it's a permanent change, a lifestyle change, it's a "from this point going forward" change in which we dedicate more time to prayer, more time to reading the Word, and more of our personal time becomes God's time.

In the year 2020, the financial situation of the nations have been grim at best, and this is reflected in the finances of many of us, the followers of Christ as well; however, if we are truly seeking revival, we must find it here in our own pocket books as well. Financial Revival, returning to God the gifts of our first fruits as He as given to us, and yes, I am as guilty as the next person in this area; however, we must Revive this part of our lives as well if we are to see the mighty moves of God that we are seeking. Listen, God knows times are tough, but He has already promised us in advance that if we give to Him  a portion of our first fruits, He will return it all and so much more, so much so that there shall not be room enough to contain it. (Malachi 3:10) The Renewing of our mind, soul, and spirit, it all begins within us, if we who claim to be the  children of God would begin to show the world what it truly means to be a follower  of Christ, perhaps it would then be not so hard to present the truth of the Gospel to those who are lost; however, clearly we do not.

By our love for one another, the world shall know that we are the disciples of the almighty God, this is
(John 13:34-35)

what we are told in John 13:34&35; yet, throughout the year 2020, love seems to be waning if it was present at all. Hate filled speech, terrorism, mass destruction of property, theft, riots, and racism are the themes constantly repeated in the  mass media of today, clearly there a problem here, and it is a lack of empathy, sympathy, and most of all, love. The year 2020 has revealed to us the disconnect that lies between those who say they love God, and those who’s actions display that they are truly the children of God: but how do we decipher the difference? It really is simple, they will know us because of our love, one for another. This my friends is why we need revival, more than just in word, but in deed, in actions, and finally, the greatest of these is LOVE.

In the book of  Mark, we find Jesus of Nazareth in conversation with a scribe attempting to catch Him in a twist by asking Him “what is the greatest commandment of all?;” however, Jesus being well aware of his hidden intent, effortlessly rebutted his inquiry with a rather deft and homely response, He quoted Deuteronomy 6:5, “thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thine heart.” Although Jesus’ reply was short, it was direct and to the point. The knowledge and wisdom that Jesus imparted on that day, still impacts us today, we are to love the Lord our God with all of our heart, all of our minds, and all of our souls, this Biblical principle expands all millennia, both Testaments, and all of time itself.

Love is truly the key, when we love Christ Jesus, we will honor Him, praise Him, and worship Him as our Lord and Savior, and everything else simply falls into place from here. To love and honor God is to place Him above all other priorities in our lives, to do this, we must first love His temple, our own bodies which He created from the very earth on which we dwell. Love for ourselves becomes easier when we realize that we are not only the Temple of God, but that we are created in the very image of God, He  who Created the universe and all therein. Our next step should becomes effortless when we consider the instructions laid out before us in Mark 12:29-31, Matthew 22:37-40, and Deuteronomy chapter 6, amongst other places, that we are to love others as we love ourselves, as we love His Temple, we must love those around us, as we were created to have communion with Him, and with others.

Now, you may be wondering to yourself, “how did we get here, and what does this have to do with Revival?” Well, that is a great question, and here is the answer, when we love God, we love ourselves, and when we love ourselves, we love others, and when we love others, we do not wish them any ill-will, nor do we wish them any harm. Now, if we find the afore mentioned statement to be true, then we can’t help but share the Love of Christ with those around us, it is the natural flow of love, we give it away, but before we can give it away, we must revive it within ourselves, we must have Revival.

God is calling us to revival right now in 2020, 2021 and beyond, a true spiritual awakening in which we check our egos at the door. Please understand, now is not the time to chase after self gratification or selfish desires, we must instead cast those things aside in an effort to draw closer to Him, the One True Living God. Drawing closer to Christ Jesus will heal sicknesses, destroy perversion, and defeat the hedonistic ideologies of this world: leaving only the purity of God's love and the presence of the Holy Spirit within us. This all sounds pretty good doesn’t it; however, to achieve this, we must decide within ourselves, that this is not only what we want, it is what we need. After this, we must press in, push forward, and call upon Jesus Christ, asking Him to give us the strength we need to make it happen with the knowlege that only we can begin the Revival process: God will not move if it is not of our own desire for Him to do so.

And so, here we are again, speaking of Revival, which according to one definition is the restoration to life or consciousness, vigor, or strength, but what does it mean to you? Do you even care? If so, are you ready for Revival? God is calling

for Revival; but it isn't for Him, it's for us. God has given us His word to live by, His many promises to look forward to, and the Holy Spirit to guide us; yet, it is up to us to do our part. Once again, let the
revival begin from the inside out, and then our families, neighborhoods, cities, and states, it is not tooo late, if we begin right now. We all know that 2020 has been a very difficult year to endure, but!, we have made it to the end. As we take this time to reflect, let us ,make an effort to reach the world with our own personal revival, let it spread from nation to nation until all the world knows the Depth of God's Love, and the Redemptive Power of the Blood of the Lamb.

II Corinthians 6:16-18
...for ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people. ...touch not the unclean thing... I will receive you, And will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be my sons and daughters...

Hebrews 8:10-12
...this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel... I will put my laws into their mind, and write them in their hearts... I will be to them a God, and they shall be to me a people. ...all shall know me, from the least to the greatest. For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness, and their sins... I remember no more...

The time is now for Revival... Amen...
