Faith, Hope, and Love....

Radioactive rain drops are falling from the sky, multiple deaths in Afghanistan and Pakistan, the massive Tsunamis, Earthquakes, and aftershocks currently being experienced throughout Japan and the Pacific ring of fire, what do the all have in common? Fear, all of these events are causing fear throughout the planet Earth. Although not all of these events are man-made, all of these events can be affected by man in one way or another, through the showing of love to our brothers as the Bible instructs us, we as humans can work together to ease the pain of those in need, not sympathy, but empathy, not caring, but love.

I Corinthians 13:13 And now abideth faith, hope, love, these three; but the greatest of these is love.

The greatest of these is Love, that is correct, the greatest of these is love. The first goal of everything that I do, write, say, or pray is to present the faith to individuals who may not know the Love of Christ Jesus; the seciond goal is to encourage people to push forward and forget the things of the past. Whether you are a believer in Christ Jesus or not, it is absolutely imperative that you know and understand that you are more important than the problems, you are better than someone's negative opinion of you, and there is more to life than living in misery.

The first step in making positive change is to understand that there is hope; that through faith all dreams are attainable. Hebrews 11:1 tells us that faith is the substance of things hoped for,and the evidence of things not seen. That is the Biblical definition of faith, but what does faith mean in the real world? When you grab that chair and sit down to have lunch, you literally have faith that the chair will hold your weight; when you are driving down the road and approach a stop sign, you have faith that the brakes will grip the rotors, and the car will stop. In life, we must have faith that we can overcome any obstacles laid down before us, in life we must have the faith and courage to press through when it appears that the world is coming against us, and that through faith we can achieve our goals.

Last year, an individual made a decision that literally changed his world; what was the decision you ask, the individual decided to go to college. Although this is a choice that several thousand individuals make every year, for this individual it is much different. The gentleman in question graduated high school in five years instead of the standard four years that most students follow, the gentleman has not taken any formal classes in over ten years, and the indivudual has a family to take care of; however, the gentleman in question has faith that with help from God, friends, and family, he can reach his goal. That individual in question is me, Fred Blackman Jr. As of today, I have not failed a class, I have acquired thirty credit hours, and I am course to graduate college just as my oldest son is graduating high school. You too can reach your goals, all it takes is Faith, Hope, and Love.......What's next?
